International scholarships for youth
➢Our short term approach consists in offering scholarships for youngsters aged 14-18, to study and train in world renowned rugby academies. The first batch of kids (we aim at 6-8 individuals) will head over to New Zealand in the summer of 2018 for a two week program in one of country’s the leading academies.
➢We are prioritizing children with an underprivileged background but with a great rugby potential as well ability to contribute to society in the long term.
➢Prior to the programs, we will offer assistance in preparing the children (in terms of social and language skills development as well as mentorship from current or former Romanian players) as well as create a rigorous follow up monitoring system in order to asses the program impact.
Coach the coaches
➢Long term, we aim at expanding towards offering scholarships for coaches and other staff in order to have a larger scale impact across the country and across age groups.
Think global, act local
➢Apart from overseas academies scholarships for youngsters and coaches, we are deploying resources to help develop rugby in remote areas of the country, again with a strong emphasis on underprivileged.
➢Such plans include: supporting local youth tournaments, facilitating access to international youth tournaments, helping high school teachers get into rugby and promoting it etc
